Love this stamp

I made these cards for friends who have birthdays on April Fools' Day. I used an Aspects of Design stamp I saw in Craft Stamper magazine, and added Distress Inks, Cosmic Shimmers and Stargazers watercolours. Just need to make some envelopes now.

And another card from an idea in Craft Stamper, this time for one of the most important men in my life.

Another CJ

I've done five CJs on UK Scrappers now, and despite each time telling myself this would be the last one, I found myself signing up for a new, mixed media CJ. I'm not sure I really know what mixed media is, but I'd like to learn.

Today I sent my CJ, with the theme 'Colours', on its way. Here's the cover and my page - I made a set of inchies using different materials and techniques, and mounted them on a page made with scrunched up tissue, acrylic paint and Glimmer Mist - I hope that's mixed media!

I've been playing with my inks and things again and have made some more tags - I don't know what I'm going to do with them but I'm enjoying trying out new things.

Trying something new ...

Like so many others I acquired various Tim Holtz products recently. My first effort, involving just about all of the products I have, isn't fit to be seen, but I'm quite pleased with the second one. The stamp is part of a set I've had for ages but never used - I think it's Anna Griffin:

The pages ...

I chose a medallion stamp - I have several and rarely use them, so I thought it would be fun to see what others would come up with. Here are my cover and the front of my page - the back of the acetate is glittered:

Rain (Lorraine) used watercolours to paint delicate flowers, and hand-dyed the ric-rac too:
Natasha coloured the panels with distress inks and stitched them together into a patchwork quilt:Buttons (Julie) used hand-painted paper, vellum, some lovely bling and lots of glimmer mist:
Secretme (Jane) cut five layers in green and blue to make a lovely decoupaged piece with a jewel in the centre:Claire used the stamp to make snowflakes with twinkly embossing, and added tiny snowballs:
Snipper (Eleanor) made me a little version of Monet's kitchen - the UTEE'd tile looks exactly like a real vintage ceramic tile:ScrappingSal (Sally) used Summer colours and Twinkling H2Os, and added a pearl centre - another completely different look:
Jo.bee (Jo) took inspiration from one of her first crafting hobbies and stitched the image in blackwork, complete with needle and thread - cross-stich and blackwork were amongst my first introductions to crafting too:
Finally NettyB (Jeanette) made a little front door with a stained glass window and metal doorknob:So all I need to do now is bind my CJ - I know I have some large Bind-it-all wires somewhere but not sure where that somewhere is at the moment.

Thank you all so much for your entries - all so different but having the stamp in common, and all providing great inspiration. I look forward to meeting you all in another CJ sometime x

Take One Stamp CJ

I've set up this blog especially to upload the photos from the UKS Take One Stamp circle journal - I usually put CJ photos on Photobucket but thought that this time I might join the blogosphere and see how it goes. I have no idea what I'm doing but here goes .....
